Ruby Scatter…

Lost in Thought…

Taken, but maybe something similar?

Lost in Chicago…

Love this name, but it’s taken!

Still liking the ones marked in bold and all the new additions.  Also starting to really take a liking to “Rubyglider”.

What the heck is a RUBYGLIDER?

Of course, now that I’m interested in “Rubyglider”, it also makes “Dramaglider” sound equally appealing.

Brass Ruby…

“Brass Monkey”?

That funky monkey!

Blackbird Ruby…

Ruby Blackbird…

Ruby Blameless…

Ruby Blame

Blame Ruby…

Ruby Bluebird…

White Ruby

I like White Ruby or Ruby White a lot.

Too many Doctor Who related things pop up in my searches.  I don’t watch Doctor Who.

I’m still attached to Dramaglider.

This is a really hard decision!

That was an actual exchange (mildly edited) between Emily, Hobbes, and myself back when we were trying to pick out a band name for ourselves.  I figured since we’ve landed on “The Future Is a Parody“, it felt like the right time to dig those old emails out of the closet.

Why the heck were we so obsessed with the word “ruby” anyway?

The Future

This is me, Emily, and Hobbes’ first demo of “The Future Is a Parody” when it was just the three of us:

You can listen to the album version HERE.

It needs to be pointed out that this entire song was written around a single guitar-riff of mine eloquently titled “Break Your Face“.

Yes.

Break Your Face“.

Every once in a while when we’re playing this song live, instead of being swept up in Emily’s beautiful piano work and mindful lyrics about the importance of moving forward, fighting through fears of complacency, and not carelessly going down a path that doesn’t bring you the life you want, I’ll remember…

Yeah…

Break.

Your.

Face.

Thank you.
