Demos and Sketches Part 9 – Loria
All my life, all my strength, all my being…
Emily describes “Loria” as an imaginary being who is the culmination of one’s perfect companion, the one who is longed for and dreamt up, the one who no real person could ever live up to.
Our original drummer, Trever Hawley, provided the kinetic, post-punk driving template that would eventually turn into the “Loria” heard in the video above. Here’s an early version as we were just finding our collective voices within the song:
And that, my friends, brings us to the conclusion of our expanded “Demos and Sketches” series. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading these behind-the-scenes stories as much as I’ve enjoyed sharing them with you.
Don’t forget that a very truncated (but equally entertaining) version of these blog entries are featured inside our Dramaglider Limited-Edition Box Set on sale at our Etsy page. It comes with our self-titled debut on CD, a six-page booklet, a bonus disc containing all the demos you’ve been listening to inside this series, a custom designed 2GB USB Drive containing WAV and MP3 versions of both discs, print-ready digital artwork, and four music videos. This puppy also comes with a Dramaglider t-shirt (while supplies last), stickers, and hand-printed photography courtesy of Candice Latimer.
And more importantly, each box is a beautiful hand-painted piece of shadowbox frame-ready original art by me. You know you want one. Head on over to Etsy and pick one up TODAY.
Over and out,
