George 4 Questions

Q: What’s your earliest musical memory?

When I was 5 years old I distinctly remember being irritated by the yodeling to a cowbell in that Stealers Wheel tune “Stuck in the Middle With You“.

PS: I love that song now and have played it in a couple of different bands.

Q: What’s the most unusual instrument you’ve played?

When my oldest son was learning violin I bought a cheap electric violin to try to help teach him.  Its made of resin with no thought whatsoever to playability, but I still get it out every now and then to tool with it.

Q: Do you have a good luck charm or some kind of ritual before a performance?

No charms, but I pray beforehand if I’m really sweating a gig and will give a prayer thanks afterwards if things don’t go too badly.

Q: Share with us some of your musical guilty pleasures!

European electro-pop…

Guilty because its usually synth bass instead of the real thing.  I love that plastic sound with some Euro-diva wailing over it.
